2000 KAWASAKI PRAIRIE 400 CDI PROBLEMS?

I have a 2000 kaw prairie 400 4x4 with a cooked cdi box. I I got another cdi box and the atv runs fine but blows one of the fuses located by the battery. It's also trying to cook the cdi box again. Any ideas what's wrong? It sounds like a short somewhere, but I don't know where to start looking.
